Re: 18th Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival (4-7th May 2007)
Sun, May 6, 2007 - 11:28 PMRose got a standing ovation. She was spectuclar.
The other standout was a Candian now base in Adelaide. She did a fantastic sword act. What was even more amazing is that she put it together in 2 hours since someone dropped out of the program line up. I think her name was Naymia or something like that.
I quite like Shermiran as well.
The little kids that got up to dance were cute as well. -

Re: 18th Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival (4-7th May 2007)
Tue, May 8, 2007 - 5:38 PMRose was (and is... and probably always will be) simply jaw dropping. She is so powerful and commanding - you daren't take your eyes away from her! I was awed by her last year (which was the first time I had seen her perform) and was not disappointed by her this time around!
The other outstanding performances to me were at the Follies on Sunday. Melusina made me cry - she is just gorgeous and such an emotional dancer. And the two girls called Gypsy Noir were cheeky and fun and just a joy to watch. I would say our troupe's performance was pretty damn good too - but that would just be being vain!! lol! More the point, we felt good about it and got some good feedback.
